Jupiter takes about 11.86 years (close to 12 years) to move through the 12 signs of your horoscope. So once every 0.98 year which is almost an year the greater benefic planet Jupiter moves from one sign to the next one (clockwise) on the Zodiac belt. Each time it moves it is referred to as Jupiter Transit (Guru Peyarchi). Jupiter is the blessing planet because He holds with Him all that which we consider as blessing. He is the indicator of Wealth and hence called the Dhanakaraka. He blesses us with auspicious ceremonies at home and the best one of all – marriage if you are unmarried and eagerly waiting for it. He is the karaka for children and hence called Putrakaraka. Remedy: In case the current transit of Jupiter is not good, do not worry. Worship on all Thursdays in places of worship where the rush is more than on other days. These are places associated with Guru (Jupiter). Pray to your favorite God, Goddess (any form any religion) on all Thursdays. Give lots of gifts, books and support to poor teachers especially if you know them. Pray to your KULA DEVATA (Family GOD) without fail. Be patient and wait for next transit of Guru. Until then if you do the remedies you will not be affected that much when compared to those who do nothing about the transit.

The chart shows Jupiter has moved from Pisces to Aries (from Meena to Mesha) but Saturn remains in the same until 15th November 2011. On June 6, 2011, Rahu moves from Dhanus to Vrischika (ie from Sagittarius to Scorpio. So year 2011 has 3 major planets transiting – 1st it is Jupiter (Guru), then it is Rahu and finally on November 15, 2011 Saturn moves from Virgo to Libra. Whenever RAHU moves its tail which is KETU also moves simultaneously. When it comes to transit, Rahu and Ketu have lesser role to play with regard to Moon sign whereas it may impact greatly the individual horoscope if the person is going through RAHU Dasha or Bhukti or Ketu Dasha or Bhukti.
First things First:
When Jupiter moves into a sign it enters a particular house from your Moon Sign. It may be any house from 1st to 12th. If it happens to be 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th or 11th house then you are blessed by the transit of Jupiter. In the other houses he is not in a mood to bless you. But you can by ardent prayers and right kind of charity through which you may receive the blessings of God.
Jupiter stays in the sign for about a year, but do not expect constant good effect or bad effect. Sometimes when certain planets enter a particular house the promised good effect (and the expected bad result) will be blocked. Table 1 gives you the details. Table 1 is a permanent information on Jupiter Transit you can use year after year because the good transit houses remain the same.
In the table you may have noticed the words “Blocking house”. This is astrologically known as Vedha house.
Example 1: For Meena Rasi (Pisces Moon Sign) people Jupiter will occupy the 2nd house for about an year from May 8, 2011. This is considered very good. But during the course of the Jupiterian year, planets may move in the 12th house. During such times the good effect of Jupiter being in the 2nd house will fail to manifest because the planets in the 12th house will block the Good Jupiter who is in the 2nd house. Usually Sun, Mercury, Venus will move through all the houses in a year. Sometime Mars may also move over the 12th house.
For your information let me tell you that during the current year 2011, there are 3 major Transits happening – Jupiter (Guru), Rahu and so Ketu and then Saturn (Shani). So in the year 2011 you will witness great changes at all levels.
When you hear Astrologers speak about a dosha (blemish) in your horoscope do not forget to ask your Astrologer “is Jupiter glancing at the planet causing the dosha” because if it does you will be saved from the problems that arise out of the said dosha. Such is the power of Jupiter. All doshas are believed to be canceled or decreased to the bare minimum as soon as Jupiter looks at the troublesome planet. This logic works not only on your natal horoscope but it also works very well with regard to Transit of Planets.
If you are experiencing the difficulties in life that arise because you are currently going through 7 and 1/2 years Saturn (Sade Sati) do not jump to conclusion that everything is over for you. Jupiter may be well placed. If Jupiter is well placed then in Transit then imagine that you have a bullet proof shield in front of you wherever you go. The effect of a bad Saturn phase will not affect you as much as for those Jupiter is not well placed.
From your Moon Sign count houses : 2, 5, 7, 9 and 11 as positive and beneficial for Jupiter to move in. If Transit Jupiter is in the following house then sit back, relax and say Thank God.The following table is a modification of Table 1 but we have added the names of Rasi so that you don’t have to count the numbers.
The above table is to be used only when Jupiter occupies Aries (Mesha). It happens approximately every 12 years. So after about 12 years you may use it again because Jupiter will then be in Mesha Rasi.

Remedies for Kanya Rasi people:
Since Transit Jupiter is not well placed you need to catch the attention of Jupiter by intensely praying on all Thursdays if your Ascendant (Lagna) is any of the following: Vrishaba Lagna, Mithuna Lagna, Kanya Lagna, Thula Lagna, Makara Lagna or Kumbha Lagna.

Kumbha Rasi:
Kumbha Rasi people will have to be very very careful between May 8, 2011 and Nov 15, 2011 because of 2 reasons:
Jupiter moves over into the 3rd house from your Moon Sign (a very challenging transit)
Transit Saturn is already in the 8th from your Moon Sign.

In this chart you will see KUMBA Rasi marked as House No.1 This applies to all those who have Moon in that portion of the zodiac. Moon is in Aquarius or Kumbha Rasi for all people who belong to Kumbha Rasi. In other words wherever your Moon is that is your Janma Rasi or Moon Sign.
Transit Jupiter is considered very inauspicious whenever he goes through the 3rd house. The 3rd house is a a house of great changes. If the person is going through a phase where a change is good that there is no need to worry. Yet, changes are resisted by all people because we like to live in the same place – the comfort zone. Simha Rasi people and Dhanus Rasi people are the greatest beneficiaries of Jupiter Transit on May 8, 2011. Though this transit all by itself will bring in great relief from existing problems and slowdowns you may have to for obtaining even better results be patient until Saturn moves into Thula Rasi on Nov 15, 2011 because after the Transit of Saturn even Saturn will be auspiciously placed. Saturn will be extra happy to be in Libra because Saturn is in an exalted state in Thula Rasi which sign is the 3rd for Simha Rasi people, and the 11th for Dhanus Rasi person.
For Simha Rasi, it is Jupiter in 9 with Saturn in 3rd and for Dhanus Rasi it is Jupiter in 5th and Saturn in 11th house. Remember you get this once in 60 years.

Though the actual transit of Jupiter is on May 8th, 2011 do you think it will start giving effects to everyone from day one of the Transit. You will be surprised to know that for Aswini Pada 1, the effect of Jupiter Transiting in the 1st Sign (Janma Rasi) has actually started from November 10, 2010, whereas for a person born in Krittika Pada 1 of Mesha Rasi the effect of Jupiter Transit will actually start only from September 24, 2011.
Is it not great to know that Moon sign effects are not really general if you know where exactly your Moon is in your Moon Sign. If it is placed earlier on in the sign that you belong to the effect of Jupiter Transit starts earlier than the announced date of Transit.

Points to Remember:
Transit of planets does no doubt have a great impact on us. It is like the changing environment as we drive on the road. As we move from daylight to darkness and from darkness to daylight all of us have noticed the effects when we drive. But a good driver (a good person as per Karma) can handle the night time as well. So continue to do good to others and you will not be that much affected by the planetary influence (it is actually not the planets it is your own Karma that is either giving you the daylight or the night time) so an attitude change is all that is needed – a change from the bad to the good, from ignorance to knowledge, from darkness to light and from mortality to the infinite.
Also your current Dasha and Bhukti and the placement of the planet ruling the Dasha and Bhukti has a greater effect on your life much more than the current Transit. This is comparable to the road, the quality of the road, is it bending, is it narrow or wide? all such things should be known. So get your horoscope examined by a good Astrologer in your locality.
